Another major highlight of being in Copenhagen was discovering Matt Orlando’s Amass Restaurant. At a much lighter price tag and smaller course menu we found this experience to be more palatable amongst some of us. This time, I also managed to meet the man himself! Suffice to say, this is a place we would go back again and again.
This place is one of our favourites we like to go back to regularly. Since Alain Fabregues opened his bistro in Subiaco we have been able to enjoy his culinary expertise in a relaxed two or three course at a time setting.
Tis was a cold cold wintry day and a tasty chilli hit was the order of the day. And so we headed to wet and grey Leederville in search of taste sensations that will not only satisfy our taste buds but to warm the cockles of our half asleep souls.

This place is one of our favourites we like to go back to from time to time. On this occasion, I attended with some of my colleagues. Some have been and some have not.
NOMA – WORLD’S NUMBER ONE RESTAURANT….UNTIL WE GOT THERE, IT WAS THEN WORLD’S NUMBER THREE, COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – JULY 2015
August 14, 2016A major highlight for us was getting a reservation at Noma. World’s number one restaurant three years in a row but when we got there it was World’s number three. It was so difficult to get a reservation as they only opened for reservations in specific periods, and then closed most of Danish summer, I enlisted people from all over the world to get me in. I managed through emails and phones calls and finally managed to obtain a reservation, think soccer goal kick dance around the room with shirt over my head kind of jubilation. Ecstatic was an understatement.
We have been very lucky to dine at this establishment many times. And if you have not visited, you must! Not only for its stunning view and extremely comfortable surroundings, for its food.
You may have gathered by now, food and wine is our primary interest wherever we go but food is first and foremost our initial trigger to venture anywhere. Firstly the menu, is there anything we would like to eat and if so, surely there would be wine to accompany the fare on offer.
