Pork and Morton Bay Bug Dumplings

I’ve shared with you previously three recipes for Asian dumplings. One day watching one of Marion Grasby’s post on her dumplings I got inspired to make a similar dumpling commonly known at dim sum/ yum cha houses as siu mai. I don’t usually steam my dumplings but during a recent house move we helped with, I’d inherited a bamboo steaming basket so that was another sign I had to give it these dumplings a good go. Pea and Ham Soup

There is no denying that summer is unfortunately over. As the sun rises later, the mornings are darker for longer and the glorious days turn into evenings with a chill, we like to turn to warm soups, casseroles and heartwarming dishes that make you feel comfortable from head to toe.

I read about this place recently as a new concept style of dining and was so glad one of our favourite friends decided to pick it for his birthday (well, his wife did). His wife’s colleague had been recently and could not stop raving about it so off we booked to celebrate his birthday.

The concept is “trust the chef” to tailor a degustation menu for you by asking you to choose the extent you wish to spend per head starting at $100 per head up to $500 per head. The more you choose to spend, the more extravagant the ingredients would be. Continue Reading…
